My dad got a iPhone 7 Mattel black 128 GB when he activated it shows no service doesn't he have to take the SIM card out of his iPhone 6 and swap it out ? Or those he have to call At&t or go to At&t store directly ?

It can take up to an hour for it to activate. Every time I've upgraded, I've never swapped a SIM card.
 
I have always just swapped sims. Easier than waiting or calling the provider.

What does the color have to do with it?
  1. Remove "Mattel" from your title. It's misspelled and irrelevant
  2. Add ATT or AT&T to your title to get more relevant responses.
