Has anyone had a difficult time charging their iPhone sometimes when plugging in the lighting connector?

I found myself having to push it in harder than and wiggling to the left and right to get it to charge.

I just happened to need an extra charging cable to keep in my backpack so I can charge my iPhone, by plugging into my MBA's USB port. I happened to mention to the sales guy that I have trouble charging. So he pulled out a toothpick from his drawer, and stuck it into the iPhone's charging port, and pulled out tons of lint. I mean, I can't believe how much lint was in there. Layer after layer he kept pulling out, it's no wonder why I had a hard time charging. Now it charges very easily no more wiggling.

Good info.
Also take a close look at the male lightening plug at the end of your charge cables carefully with a magnifying glass. When the plug starts wearing out, the gold pins can break off in little places—preventing charging.

Correct. Once a month, I take some canned air to the port to blow out any lint bunnies that might have accumulated sitting in my pocket. And the speakers.

Toothpicks are probably the safest way to go and easiest to find. Anything nonmetallic. But even with a toothpick, need to be careful to damage anything in the connector when digging the lint out.
