iPhone 7 charging

I have a insignia charging cord works perfect on my iPhone 6 and 6s, but when 90% of the time I plug it into my 7 it won't charge. I keep plugging it in and out until it does recognize and charge. once it's charging it's good and stays charging not like you have to hold the wire in a specific spot cause it's broke. Anyone else have this issue or know why? The cord in the box works fine.
