Iphone 7 doesn't let me import GMAIL accounts

Hi guys..and girls,

Im so sorry to bother you, but I have a serious problem. I've just bought the iphone 7 today and I was trying to add my gmail accounts , but it doesnt work. I type the password (which is correct) and then it just throws me back to the email provider list (icloud, aol, gmail, other etc...)
Ive been talking to apple for over an hour and nothing seems to work, i even activated two step verification for gmail.

does anyone know what i could do?

Are you sure it's not just asking if you want to add another account?

A reset maybe? My iPhone 7 worked with my gmail account straight away, mail, calendar, contacts. I'm only just moved from android so all my stuff is google
