iPhone 7 low light photos worse with Live Photos?

I remember reading an article last year about how enabling live photos reduces the quality of low light shots on the iPhone 6s. Does anyone know if this still applies on the iPhone 7, or if Apple ever addressed it on the 6s?

If so I want to turn the feature off to get the max ability out of the camera.
