I just found out earlier today that iOS 11 added a built in screen and microphone recorder feature to iOS devices. You can enable it from Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls > Screen Recording.

So I recorded a 20 minute gameplay footage and I replayed it on my iPhone and it all worked fine. Then I transferred it over to my MacBook and it still looked fine. However, when I tried to edit it on iMovie the audio was gone. When I tried to edit it on Premiere Pro the audio worked but it was out of Sync. I tried to use Handbrake thinking there was something wrong so I converted it into a constant 30 fps file. However, once I did that the audio was gone.

So I decided to just not edit it and from my MacBook I uploaded the raw file to YouTube and it finished and it processed and then I played it from YouTube and when I played it the audio was gone. I uploaded it from my iPhone using the Youtube app and again the audio was gone.

Before this I recorded iPhone screen footage using ScreenFlow. But it has been buggy lately and the audio is having issues similarly to the built in iOS screen recorder.

What could be causing this issue? I see people on YouTube uploading videos just fine but I don't know what they use to record.
