iPhone iPhone 7 Plus delay in waking

I’ve encountered a strange and annoying bug since going to ios11. For some reason if I lock my phone and then immediately try to unlock it there is a delay of anywhere between several seconds to longer before it unlocks. I tried hard reset and updated to 11.0.1 and it didn’t help. Sometimes it doesn’t wake and I have to hard reset.

Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what’s causing it?

I have this issue. It's incredibly bad and makes me fully regret updating to iOS 11.
