iPhone 7 plus no using both cameras at the same time

iPhone 7 plus is not using both cameras at the time, not at same this time. I dont think Apple ever explained this. Watch this video for more info:

Old news, yeah I don't think Apple ever stated this. The frustrating thing is that there is no indication on the screen whether or not zooming 2x will go digital or optical though. I would really appreciate a way of knowing without covering the lens.
