iPhone 7 plus resale value?

So out of curiosity, I decided to look at IPhone 7 Plus auctions on EBay just to see if it's worth it to just buy out an iPhone 8/X and just sell it right before then new one comes out.


So I just looked and my jaw DROPPED.

How the hell is the iPhone 7 plus 128gb still worth over $900?!!!! That's absolutely crazy! This auction doesn't even have apple care+ with it!!!


Is the resale value THAT good with these? Shouldn't I just buy it straight out and resell it at the end and not do the monthly payments through apple?

Just because someone is selling it for that much doesn't mean it's worth that much or they'll get that much. It's worth much less. My guess is those bids aren't real since it's much less than this to buy directly from Apple.

It was $869 brand new right (that's what I found in an old CNET article)? If I remember correctly the jet black was a harder color to find, and the Verizon models were all unlocked, weren't they? It's probably someone from out of the country paying that money. Otherwise it's someone stupid.
