iPhone 7/Plus IPHONE 7 SCREEN BLACK BUT HOME BUTTON CLICKS AND PHONE IS WARM

Hi guys,

I damaged my iPhone screen so bought a new lcd screen and fit it myself watching a youtube video.

When ive turned it back on the screen is black but the home button clicks and the phone is warm.

I've plugged it into my MacBook but iTunes doesn't recognise it>

Any ideas?

Unfortunately with third party displays you take the risk of things like that.

Shouldn't my MacBook still recognise the phone though?

Does it still work with the original display?

Probably the screen is faulty and causing a short. If you hold the phone under bright light do you see anything on the screen or still nothing?

If you see, the backlight is broken/poorly soldered.
