After the new iPhone announcements tomorrow, would the iPhone 7 still be a good buy even though it’s technically “outdated”?

I’ll take the iPhone 7’s unibody aluminum over the more fragile glass back of the new iPhones.
 
Sounds like it would be for you. It still out performs a plethora of flagship android devices recently released.

How if those Android phones have more powerful hardware (more RAM and beefier processors)?

That’s like saying a Mac outperforms a Windows PC with more hardware.

Perhaps the OS uses less resources or is more efficient. I’m no expert in software/hardware performance. I’m just giving you the information I’ve found on the web. Getting into the how it performs better would be an entirely new topic.
