iPhone 7/Plus iPhone 7 Waterproof?

Just looked up the specs of my iPhone 7 and apparently waterproof up to 1 meter, is that true ?

obviously I’m not going to test the claim but does anyone know if it’s true ?

Your phone is water resistant which is far from waterproof... The answer is yes, it can handle splashes and possibly submersion but that depends on it's age and condition of the seals which deteriorate over time
