A "sidewall" screen is a great idea. That way, the only protection against bending and scratching (a case) is unusable.

new rumors are being started of the iPhone 7 for next year. Apparently they are skipping 6S, will include a sidewall screen and have no home button.

I know its all a guess at this point.

Any bit of rumor is true. Ugh! Maybe, I'll move ahead with a 5S and wait next year for the 7. Or use my soon acquired 3GS for Voice/Text only. What to do? I doubt Apple will do this. There will be a 6S/6+S, and we will have to wait 2016 to get the 7. Apple is slow at this.

If I had to bet I would say they wouldn't skip the 6S and go to the 7, but who knows they have done some things in the last 2 years that I would never believed. The plastic 5c and 2 larger screened phones at the same time.

Can we just enjoy the 6 & 6+ for now? I mean... the phone has been out for a little over a month and the 7 is already in talk

They're not skipping the 6S. Being able to use the same parts for hardware 2 years in a row is part of Apple's strategy. It helps with margins.

apple will never have a 'sidewall' display.

they, for whatever reason, are too concerned about making the phone paper thin. if that's their goal then a display on the side is useless at less than a cm thin.
