We've come to understand the camera lens on the 7 series isn't quite the hardened sapphire used in higher quality watches.

I was doing a search and found a couple of google hits for a lens protector for sale, but I suppose you could cut your own, also.

Has anyone bought anything of the sort or tried cutting their own from screen protectors they may have lying around?

Here is an eBay link to one.

The problem i have with the camera now is that it doesn't seem to be 100% sealed. After 2 weeks, I can see a few grains of dusts inside. They don't seem to affect photo quality whatsoever. Considered swapping but I know if I bring them in they'll think I'm crazy

It's the same lens cover you've had on any other iPhone you've owned; have you had issues with the durability of those lenses? I haven't.
I've used life cases because I am on boats. With water resistance this year, I am not life casing.

A LOT of sand in my recreation time, so,I don't want to have sand scratching up the camera lens.

How about You?

I guess a precut cover that's also covers the bezel would be a seller?

Excellent point. I have never had issues scratching the camera lens. Take care of your device and it's not an issue.

Sorry, but it's getting a bit ridiculous now - the camera lens is the exact same one as used it previous generations and I've yet to find one single thread in the forums where somebody complains about his lens being scratched. Why all the fuss on this years model? Just because we recently found out that it could be scratched in theory?

It's not 100% sealed, but the phone is water resistant? Hmmm....

Important context that you left out of your original post.

People actually put a lens protector on their iPhones now?

Lol.

Then just get a life proof case and call it a day.
My dive gloves that worked with my 6s+ and Samsung won't activate the home button on the 7Plus. 3D Touch works on apps like the camera with the gloves, but light touches don't work. This is why I got RID of the life case on top of the phone being water resistant this year via post #4 of this thread.

Seeing as this is an accessories forum and not a necessities forum, I would like to think any accessory someone wanted to use would be ok with their self?

Ridiculous is subjective. But that's just how I view it.
