Since Note 8 has beed declared to have the best display, i really think Apple should go all in with the screen and screen to body ratio (at min 80% stbr) and they need to come with promotion and maybe true tone display
They need the hardware, software can be adjusted in the months to come, but the hardware cant be change from sept 2017 to sept 2018

So, do you also think Apple needs to start putting promotion into in every Apple product (except apple watch)? this year starting with iphone, next year maybe with the macbook line, and 2 years from now, into every imac and upcoming Apple Display

Tru-Tone is nothing more than a sensor to correct the white point on the display based on the ambient lighting using sensors. Promotion is a just marketing term for the 120 HZ refesh rate for a smoother experience. If I had to choose one or the other, I would rather have the Promotion display. But in all likeness, both features will be supported in the new iPhone, in the least, Tru-Tone.

I am all for ProMotion being added to this years iPhone and future products, but I don't necessarily think it's needed to best the current display of the Note 8.

ProMotion doesn't change display quality. Most likely Apple purchased old panels probably from the S6 panel generation so they can profit more. They will market it as the best with true tone and promotion while keeping it calibrated in basic rgb standard mode and you guys will believe it's the greatest.
