There seems to be a lot of momentum picking up these past few days that the IPhone 8 (edition or pro version) will be delayed until October or later. Anyone think there's any truth to that? I can't imagine Apple not having some stock available in September but these latest rumors make it seem like there won't be any. I would assume preorders would still be the same but then everyone has a 4-6 week ship time? Thoughts.

I wonder what the MacRumors community thinks of delays on device delivery for those who are in the iPhone Upgrade Program. I'm sure there's legalese in the contract that says something along the lines of "too bad, so sad," but …
The program is marketed as "get the new iPhone every year." If I don't get the new phone until 13, 14 months or longer, that's not what was promised, at least in spirit. I'm paying for additional months with the old phone while I wait for the new one.
I'd really like to see Apple give iPhone Upgrade customers first dibs on preorders. I'm not holding my breath.

It's matter what you believe for rumors. But regardless, even if there were an initial delay, the OLED model will back order in under three minutes for pre-ordering. So for some, the reality is they won't have the OLED model depending on when they pre-order or at all.
I believe it. It might be for the best to improve the phone or even get Touch ID integrated. Apple will try to get the best product out there instead of rushing, I don't think they fear any of the other phones coming out during this season.
Oh no! People will be forced to use a one year-old phone, that is still available for sale, for a few extra weeks. The horror.
I am okay with a delay till October. I ordered my Jet Black 7 on pre-order day and got it more than a month late, on the 14th of October, that too after multiple calls and emails to my carrier.
I'll try to put my pre order in literally the second pre orders go live on Apple Store app and hope I get it soon. I am willing to wait till the 2nd week of December as I have to go home for a month, so as long I get it before then I am fine, hopefully I won't have to wait that long.
