I just received my new iPhone 8 and turned off true tone display, but even at full brightness, my new phone screen is way darker than the screen on my iPhone 7. i have both phones sitting next to each other with the same settings turned on, and there is an obvious difference.

Any ideas on why it might be doing this?

Might be the "Reduce White Point" setting. When I upgraded to iOS 11 the screen on my 6S went much darker. Turned the "Reduce White Point" option off and it was back to normal.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Reduce White Point

Worth a shot :)

Just went to check and that setting is already turned off! :/

Thanks for the attempt though! i never knew that was even a setting!

my 7 though also has a darker display then my co-workers display even when on the same settings. We just noticed last week though and i didn't worry about it since i new id be getting this phone today! But now that the new phone is darker than the 7 I'm a little concerned!
