Apologies if this topic has been discussed. I searched the forum and couldn’t find anything specific on it apart from chirping during calls.
I had my iPhone 8 Plus replaced by Apple. The new phone they gave last Sunday has a very weird behaviour. If I leave my phone sitting for a while and then pick it up to place on my ear and press it again my ear, the earpiece chirps. It does it as many time I want while pressing in on my ear and out away from my ear. I can even pressure the earpiece area downward if I did not want to put it on my ear and I hear a chirp. This happens when I am. It on a call. It does happen ones when I pick up a call.
It seems, if I can hypothesize, that either there is a static build over time the phone is sitting While undisturbed or something is loose or broken on the inside that is causing this when pressure is applied to that area. After pressing the earpiece area with my thumb hard, it stops doing it then it returns after leaving it for a while untouched.
Took it the GENIUSES at Apple and they could not replicate the noise. I don’t know if I have bionic ears and can hear an unexceptional sound but you need a quite environment to replicate the above and they seem to not hear it for some reason. It is a very distinguished and noticeable sound. They refused to change the phone again for me saying it seems okay after doing all kind of software tests on it.
Is anyone out there having the same issue to assure me that I am not going crazy here? If not should I use a hammer and nail that area?
Thanks.
