iPhone 8 Plus Leather Case Question

Is there a leather case for the iPhone 8 Plus that will actually protect the phone in the event of a drop or other accidents? I contacted Nomad to see if they were going to make a leather Rugged case like the one for the X but they said no. I know many of the Folio cases will provide protection but I've had the Doc Artisan Sport Wallet 2 and while it's a great case I would like a little less bulk but still have the phone protected. Did you have a look at the Twelve South Journal ?. IMO an excellent product with optimal protection for your iPhone.
