I'm having an issue with my iPhone 8 dropping the WiFi signal.

It seems to happen when I open an app such as Airmail, Maps or Safari, basically anything that immediately needs to use the wifi signal to download email, find my location on a map, open a web page, etc.
This does not happen every time but enough to be annoying, maybe 5 or 6 times a day, which for my use would be about 30% of the time I open a wifi dependent app.

This is repeatable both at home and at work so its not a router or other such network problem.

I first noticed this behavior a month ago (?). I'm wondering if a recent IOS 13 update caused this.

The fix is easy enough: turn WiFi off and on and re-join the network in question. The app then works with WiFi as it should but later in the day the wifi will be dropped again.

I have read several articles about sporadically dropped WiFi over the years and none of the solutions apply to this behavior. Auto-join is turned on, the router/network is not the issue, etc.

I do use the IOS VPN and thought that could be it. However the WiFi dropping issue started well after I first started using VPN.

Have others had this issue lately? Any solutions?
