iPhone 8 silver/white not white?

I have handled and seen several 8’s, regular and plus in the silver/white color and it pains me that the back glass isn’t white. It’s an off gray???? Why would they do that? Front is pure white but the back is not.

This concerns me as I am planning to get the silver/whit 10. Is this normal or some type of color issue?

The front is white. The back is “Silver” which is a soft gray. I love it. It’s a rich, elegant color.

I noticed this as well. I am wondering how silver the iPhone X will be? I'm hoping for more white than silver as I'd prefer to buy a white iPhone.
