Hello, my iPhone 8 is stuck on a boot loop as it attempts to update iOS14. I believe that there is not enough memory to allow the download to complete. I have tried to restart and nothing changes. I don't want to conduct a factory reset as I have photos etc which are not saved anywhere but on the phone. I sent it to a data recovery place, but they could do nothing due to the encryption - what else can I do?

Nothing. You have to delete the data on the phone and setup as new. Not backing up your data is not wise and you now know why. The data on the phone is un recoverable by any method anyway so if you want to continue to use the phone you'll need to just chalk it up to a costly mistake and protect yourself in the future by making backups regularly.
