just like the title says. if you want to get a good feel about how each phone feels. hold you 7plus and then place 5 quarters on top of it. youget used to the feeling no doubt but as a runner, I try to minimize the weight I carry whether its my water bottle, a phone, shoes, a light, or even myself.

That’s just a bit too obsessive IMO. If that serious personally I’d just not bring a phone. Considering you’d likely carry it in a armband or pouch which also has weight.
 
i'd go the armband route or buy a cheap shuffle (which i still have).

i dont carry a phone because of the bulk. you may see it obsessive but carrying stuff around when you just running for 15-26 miles, you feel it. i still have a iphone 5c that i bough really cheap from someone. i put in the sim card from my phone into it if i need to run with a phone due to on-call for work.
