iPhone Activation Issues

Anyone else get this error in iTunes. Says I will get an email when it's finished.


Kinda frustrating to hear.
 
I got this too. WTF!!!!!! I'm so pissed right now. My iPhone is sitting there staring at me and I can't use it!
 
My friend and I bought one, brought it to his place, and both of us got the same message. We're waiting.... impatiently.
 
At least be grateful you have them. I don't even have the money to buy one yet. :mad:

Oh well, at least I get to laugh my ass of at you! :D
 
I've been stuck on the "this may take up to 6 minutes" AT&T activation screen for about 25 minutes...
 
same thing for me. if u call at&t they say its because they are backed up. no offense, but i cant imagine many ppl who waited in line expected this

edit - oh look, there's a iphone activation support number. Holy crap answered in 1 ring!
"could take up to 6 hours" is what the chick said


EDIT - BINGO, got the email, this puppy is LIVE

Given all the hype and the long lines, why wouldn't you expect this? Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple's entire site crashed or ATTs network crashed.

Dude, I am only on the east coast, that means even more ppl are going to have problems if this is really a load issue. I'm pretty sure they knew exactly how many iphones they had in stock. I mostly blame AT&T for this as everything was fast in the activation until the last part. Either way, its still no excuse.

what was this process like...was a credit check ran? i am on my dad's account and was wondering what info i needed to do the activation.

Same issue here, needs more time to complete....is it just going to start working when its ready? Should I leave it plugged in?
 
Grr.......waiting too..... Why does the manual say you can use other features, when you can't?! Hehehe......the waiting game!

it sure is pretty though!

I'm sure you're busy playing right now but how did you wait...did u leave it plugged in, did the phone just come alive?
 
iTunes slow

iTunes was really slow for me too. Then it finally worked.

Posting from my iPhone now!!!

This thing is sweet!!!!!
 
You have to wait to get the email, there's a link on it you click and it activates the phone, that's all.

So i can't even unplug my iphone and have it be activated wirelessly? I have to sit at my computer waiting for an email so that I can click some link?!?

PS...funny thing, you can add media to your iphone while it's waiting to be activated in itunes. Then, if you plug in the headphones and push the button on the wire, your music will start to play. Pretty much a glorified ipod shuffle at this point!!!
