Other iPhone Air camera

Looking over the iPhone Air and it has a 48 MP camera but only 1x and 2x optical zoom. How would this compare to my current 13 Pro with 12 MP camera and up to 3x optical zoom? Would the additional MP make up for the optical zoom difference?

If I was smart, I would look at the 17 Pro but I think I prefer the titanium over the aluminum and the slightly biggest screen on the air.

I saw someone answer this in another thread, but the answer they gave was no. The sensor in the 16e is smaller than the Air and they're both smaller than the Fusion sensor in the Pro/Pro Max. I don't recall if they said where they got the info, but I am just the messenger.
