The thing is, it needs a case more than any other iPhone. That being said, I would never use one with it lol

No

Yes. It’s not something you would want to put an Otterbox on but a light case would protect it without adding too much bulk. For me it’s not so much about thin but more about weight.
What's the likelihood that Apple comes out with their own 1st party unique case that somehow highlights the thin-ness of this device while also protecting it somewhat? In other words, Apple comes out with a original case that is just meant for the iPhone 17 Air and nothing else?

Apple will 100% come out with an original case just for the iPhone 17 Air.

You might need one! No worries here, the 17PM is for me!
Probably 17p for me, I have the 16p now and I love it.

All my phones are naked, people who insist on cases don't realize how much weight they add, quite a bit with some of them.

I know a good amount of people that use their iPhones without a case. Maybe a light screen protector, but that's it. Once upon a time, I would only use a case when I was traveling and all other times I would use my iPhone sans-case.

It really depends on how particular you are about keeping your iPhone absolutely spotless. Some just use their phones and don't care if it gets a small scratch or ding.

If Apple does use more Titanium for the Air, which is rumored, it could end up being slightly more resistant to scratches. Who knows. Until we really see the phone and the normal early adopters have a chance to put it through it's paces, we will not really have enough information to know how well their Air could hold up without a case.

The larger screen size for a lower price than the pro was the logic for me and lots of musicians. The ipad is a sheet music reader (ForScore) and backup recording or filming device. A black, leather-look case for onstage is a must.

It's a consumable. Just use it. Half of what you're paying for is the aesthetics, spending 1k+ on a sleek product then putting a $30 piece of plastic on it makes very little sense.

I pay $0 for the aesthetics. A phone isn't a status symbol or a work of art to me, it's a phone. I buy iPhones because I'm invested in the ecosystem and because they work. I put a case and screen protector on them so they stay working.

I always insisted on using a case for every phone I had, until March of this year, when I settled on just using a skin. Now I will not use a case under no circumstances. I love having no bulk.

If the user has always used a case with their previous phones, they’re comparing phones with cases. In that case (pun intented), the Air is still a much thinner overall package. :)

They "stay working" just fine if you take decent care of your belongings.
