Iphone AirMagsafe charger

What are the chances the charger isn't a one-off product? Will next year's version be compatible? Gotta be, right?

Extremely likely that it is. Teardown videos show the battery itself is the Air battery. They wrapped a magsafe case around it.

The magsafe battery will charge any magsafe item when properly positioned on it, like a 16 Pro sitting on sideways. (overnight charger)

Recently returned my 17 Pro Max (not a worthy upgrade over the 16). I'm thinking of getting the Air + charger. Currently on the upgrade program, I just don't want to get screwed.
