With an iPod (not touch), you can select a playlist for your alarm.

I've tried many alarm apps for my iPhone. Many enable you to add the songs from a playlist but I have not found any that enable you to select a playlist.

What's the difference? Well, with a smart playlist, the songs can change. With WiFi syncing in iOS 5 it gets even more interesting.

For example, I created a smart playlist called Alarm that contains five 5-star rated songs I have not listened to in two or more years. By using this playlist as an alarm every day, I would listen to songs I like but for whatever reason haven't played in a while -- in theory that is because as I mentioned the alarm apps add songs from a playlist so I'd have to remove and re-add songs manually every day, thus defeating the point of the smart playlist updated via WiFi syncing.

Thoughts? Is this a limitation of the SDK or does such an app exist? Thank you.
