Looking for a way to display my phone's serial number as quickly as possible.
(requirement for work at security checkpoint(s), must match my access badge/pass if asked)
I think the quickest way is: Settings, General, About, scroll down ( using 3GS 4.3.3)
Is there a way to create an alias, shortcut, or automate it so I could get to the about page with a single step from home screen or dock?
What I have done as a possible solution is take a screenshot of the about/serial number page and made it my lock screen wallpaper. Not a perfect solution since I could have just photoshopped the wallpaper but it should work in most cases to quickly display the serial number without even unlocking the phone.
