iPhone always shown in iTunes

I'm sure if there was a way, I would have heard about it, but can I get my iPhone to always show in iTunes? Even when it is unplugged? I would like to be able to manage what media is synced even when the iPhone is not plugged in.

Actually in 3.1.1 they are going to release MMS for AT&T, wireless syncing and finally adding the word gullible into the auto-correction since it has been left out due to not being included in current dictionaries.
