Hi all (please move if necessary mods),

I am on an iPhone 15PM, and I finance it through Apple Inc. AC+. I had thought about upgrading to the 17PM later this year, but in all honesty, this 15PM is still brilliant. Battery health is still at 95%, camera is great etc etc. When I get a new phone, I always go for AC+ too as I quite often go caseless, AC gives me the confidence to do so. However, my AC+ expires in October (2 years from purchase), and I feel reluctant to keep the phone without AC. Sounds silly to me, that I get rid of a perfectly great phone just because I have no coverage.

I also have a S8 Watch, but, I pay AC+ monthly which means it runs as long as I let it. I’ve had the S8 since it came out, so been well over two years-and I’ve had it replaced once in that time too so it’s paid for itself. I took this out post-purchase though.

So, question is, is there a way for me to setup AC+ after my 2 year initial period is up on my iPhone? I usually just upgrade every two years so it’s never been something I’ve considered-but equally, don’t want to not have coverage on the device.

I’m UK based as I know there can be regional variation. If anyone has done this or know of it can be done that’d be great.

Cheers!
Dan

I know in the USA you have I think 90 days after it expires to go to a monthly plan. I don’t know for sure if that’s a thing in the UK sorry.

You ever think about just not getting AppleCare? One reason for AppleCare at least in my opinion is if you don’t want to spend or can’t spend the entire cost of the phone. Another is if you’re sort of dangerous like me and break them routinely.

In your situation, the worst case scenario is you would need to get a new iPhone and that would be an excuse to upgrade. I mean, if you’re dead set on not upgrading then get the AppleCare but if you’re kind of wishy-washy about it then maybe just take the chance. Who knows that phone might last another year.
