Iphone and GPS

Does anybody know if there is anything like bluetooth or wired gps chip for iphone. I saw electronic stores sell gps chips for laptops for like $100, you can just install right software and connect your gps chip to a laptop and you got gps on laptop. Is there anything like that for iphone?

I imagine there will be eventually, but you will have to hack your iPhone to get it to work... (sucks)

I really wish they would add the tower locator with Google Maps. My friend has that on his new Motorola Q and I am green with envy.
