Hi all,

Please forgive me if I sound a bit dense here but I'm an old school user.

I'm still on the iPhone 5s and it's dying a painful death, I am going to upgrade to the iPhone 6 (not 7) and wanted to ask about compatibility.

My iTunes is version 11.4, I can't go any higher (despite having the newest Mac) because of the amount of music held the iTunes is no longer designed for hundreds of playlists and 50,000+ songs; it slows everything down to a grinding halt and puts a limit on the amount of playlists.

So I have kept 11.4 so that I can still sync my iPod and hold vast volumes of music.

If I get the iPhone 6 will it mean I can't sync it? I don't hold music on the iPhone so never sync it up with iTunes but do you need iTunes to initiate the phone? Any apps I get I just download on the actual phone so would never need to upload anything from iTunes.

Can I just get the phone and not even involve the Mac?

Additionally, does anyone know if they are going to make iTunes more friendly for people with lots of playlists and music? Or are they still snubbing us?
Thanks (sorry for long message)
