I've looked around the forum, but I simply don't know what to search for to find the answer to my problem.

I have an iPhone 4 and honestly, I feel its a bit "glitchy" to begin with. I plugged it in to the computer to download/install the update and somewhere along the line it stopped.

Now the phone is pretty much empty, emergency mode only, no access to anything and iTunes won't let it connect. It acts like it knows the phone is there, gives me a "waiting for iPhone" message. After a few moments it says "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care."

I've tried unplugging, restarting, turning off and leaving off. I don't know what else to do. Somebody help :(

This is the only phone I have too....

When you say "install the update" were you loading the ios5 GM?

Have you tried DFU mode?

I didn't know that's what that was called, but that's what I ended up doing. It appears to be working!!! I'm currently restoring to my back up that was made just prior to the crash...
