I have an iPhone X Max in a grippy, thin, soft plastic case.

In between the iPhone and the case I placed a very thin piece of metal about 2” x 2”. This allows me to slap the phone against a magnetic holder in my car; a system I really like and would like to continue using.

I am buying a pal’s iPhone 13 Max Pro and these have those charging systems where you lay the iPhone against a charger instead of plugging the charging cable into the bottom of the iPhone.

Can I safely slap this 13 against the magnetic holder w/o damaging the charging system? Need I even use that 2” x 2” metal piece to hold it? I fear that if I did, it would interfere with charging it by laying it flat against the charger
