Iphone and PS3 on 5ghz :confused:

Hi all.

im looking to buy a used airport extreme,which is the previous gen either 2.4ghz or 5ghz.


I know the iphone doesant support 5ghz ,will the iphone still be able to connect to the wireless network if its set to 5ghz😕

Same with my PS3 will this run if i have the router set to 5ghz all the time?

If you set the Airport to be 5Ghz only, the iPhone will not even see the network.

Ahh ...thought so ,Think ill have to get the latest generation extreme then as i need the 5ghz for my mac🙁

You want model number A1301 or A1354. The 301 came out in March 2009 and the 354 is the current generation that came out late 2009. Both can do 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz at the same time. Also remember, the 5Ghz band doesn't go as far as the 2.4Ghz band. It has trouble going through walls and other solid things.
