Hi all

Just a quick query really.

Why is the quality of most, if not all videos you download from Youtube such bad quality on the iphone, especially when you know that when played on your computer there fine.

I know its probably not an iphone issue, but was just curious to know the reasons.

thanks muchly.

I'm assuming your watching on the cell-network?

They are re-compressed to transmit over the cell-network faster.

Have you tried watching them with the iPhone on Wi-Fi? It should look a lot more like the computer version in that case.

Ye, ok, will give that a go, cheers.

Interestingly I have found that watching the same video on the app "Truveo" is much much sharper than the You Tube app included. This is even over the cellular network. Try to compare the same video and you will see what I mean.

Yes, I agree. Truveo over network vs. You Tube over network, Truveo has better quality.
