Hi All,

I'm working on an application development in iPhone which sends the wifi packets to access points when we access that application.

I need to broadcast wifi 802.11 packets from my iPhone to all nearby access points in its coverage.

Could you please share an objective-c code or APIs to send such wifi packets to the access points?

Thanks,
Bharani..

iPhone API for sending wifi packets

Hi Ianray,

Thanks for your reply.

Could you provide any code snippets using this Apple80211 library to send wifi packets to nearby access points from iPhone?

Also, kindly clarify whether we have any APIs for obtaining RSSI of nearby access points in iPhone?

Thanks,
Bharani..

802.11 Frame Body

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the comments. That helped me in getting my work done.

I'm going to generate a data frame from my iPhone (needs to be differentiated with other DATA, MNGT, CTRL 802.11 frames) and send it over WiFi. Please clarify whether I could only modify the data (Frame Body) field in 802.11 frame or also the MAC header part?

Please see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc757419(WS.10).aspx.

Sorry, if this question doesn't comes under this forum's scope!!

Thanks again..

Hi Ian,

You have mentioned about APLogger application in iPhone right? Please clarify whether that'll work in Non Jail broken iPhone 4??

Thanks,
Bharani..

I'm just going to quote ianray (who proactively provided a very suitable answer to that question as well):

You owe it to yourself to do this kind of basic research.

Let's just say I hope Bharani isn't developing this application for the App Store...
