iOS iPhone App Connect to Laptop

Hello, this is my first time posting in here and I am making an app for a networking class I am currently taking.
What it's supposed to do is send pictures taken with my phone automatically to my home computer... I have a Macbook Pro and I've been trying to look for a possible example on where to start.
I have ideas, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about actually connecting... can anyone point me in the right direction?
