Since push notification was removed from the 2.1 beta, I'm just wondering if app develepors have kept the version that included it and are developing based on that now outdated version, or have they ditched their plans for notification pending word from Apple on a new beta?
 
I'm not a developer, nor am I bound by the NDA. However, I know that we have had quite a few new customers who intend to use Mac minis in our data center as their push notification servers and many are already installed. (Obviously, I'll respect their privacy and nor mention which.)

It'd be a bit of a gamble to do that: There's no guarantee that if and when the notification services are revived they'll bear any resemblance to what was there before: You could spend months developing something only to find it's wrong once they add the notification services back in
