I've had an iPhone for many years and always update the iPhone apps on my macbook air usually once a week or whenever they show up. I sync my music through iTunes to add/delete songs but haven't synced apps in many years, so easy to do it from the iPhone directly. So my question is why should we even keep copies of all of the apps in iTunes? I just deleted them all and it was 12GB in iTunes space. Saved it all to a folder. I know there are always updates, and maybe some people prefer old versions but I don't see the point at all anymore of keeping them in iTunes or much less on the hard drive. Or am I just wrong?
