1) Is it possible to buy an old applecare for the iPhone 5? Applecare+ is not available where I am.

2) I know the ordinary applecare doesn't cover accidental damage but in some cases if its out of warranty, they charge an out of warranty replacement of $200(?), is this still in effect and will apple charge $200 too for accidental damage covered by ordinary applecare or did they scrap this rule since there's already applecare+?

TIA.

Yes, places that do not have applecare+ still offer applecare. As far as question #2 they still offer out of warranty replacements, but typically not for just cosmetic damages....unless it is a cracked screen or effects performance. The iphone 5 OOW replacement cost is $229 and does not matter if you are still covered under normal applecare.

Thanks. So its $229 for replacements for accidental damage (major damage) regardless if you're covered (by old applecare version) or not, however if you're covered by applecare+ replacement is only $50, right?
