Has anyone ever gotten a refund on Applecare they bought for an iphone then didn't keep the phone? And yes the box was opened and the phone registered. Oops.

It doesn't matter if the box was opened or the phone registered. The rules vary from state to state, but in Calif for example, you have 30 days to "return" applecare and get a full refund. If you have used part of it (by taking the phone in) then that part is deducted. You can find all this on the apple site somewhere. Not sure if the 30 days applies to all states.

(I am waiting for my refund - I bought mine very late on the 3gs not knowing they were coming out with the 4.)

I had forgotten this thread. I did get a FULL refund from Apple for my Applecare, including taxes.
