iPhone Apps Crashing

I have got an iPhone 3G (16GB Black) and have installed some games and apps such as bible and facebook. Now, over the past week or so, the apps have became increasingly unstable, to the point where some of the games show the splash screen, then crash, and nearly every 3rd party app on the iPhone crashes.

What should I do? Should I make an appointment to see a Genius or is it more a software problem that I could fix myself?

Try doing a restore from back up, if that doesn't work then do a complete restore.
If you still don't have any luck take it to the genius bar.
