I noticed the other day that when I purchased an album on my iPhone and synced it back to iTunes, iTunes kept saying 'updating files' after it had transfered the music from the phone to the mac. It seemed to take a while to do this but I left it to its own devices.
Once it had completed I undocked my phone and then redocked it later. iTunes did its usual 'sync' bit when the phone is redocked but then it said 'updating files' again. I thought it was weird as nothing had changed so there was nothing to update and really I hadn't seen this updating thing before so it left me even more confused. Again once it had finished I though nothing of it.
Yesterday I wanted to play the recently purchased album on my Apple TV but the files were not available to stream even though everything else was. This bothered me but also made me question myself and eventually made me think I must not of synced the phone since I purchased so it obviously wouldnt be in my library to be seen on my ATV.
I had obviously synced it because of the 'updating files' thing, I just forgot I had.
So getting onto today I have noticed that around 50% of the album artwork on my iPhone is now displayed as black boxes.
The music seems to play fine but the artwork is just black. The even stranger thing is that when I play the track the artwork then shows up correctly but the little icon in the corner (that flips round for album details etc) is still black.
Any body have a clue as to what is going on?
I'm at work right now so can't look into it just yet. It's that just now when I went to play some music on my phone and I noticed the black artwork and it made me think of the weirdness described above.
I also have a problem with my screesaver on my Mac since upgrading to 10.5.6. Could it all be something to do with CoreAnimation / OpenGL? My screensaver is 'just black' too. And when I try to change it in sys pref the pane crashes to the desktop. The only thing I have done recently is update Leopard to 10.5.6. Everything is right up to date.
