My PS3 controller broke, so I thought I could use my iPhone to replace it?

Has anyone gotten this to work?

I'm not sure how well multi-touch is going to replace:

D-pad
Left analog
L3
Right Analog
R3
Triangle
Circle
Square
X
L1
L2
R1
R2
Start
Select

If you want to try and have a 3.5" screen replicate a 15 button controller feel free, but I can guarantee you it won't work out well. Hell, even Nintendo wasn't crazy enough to try a multi-touch only controller in the Wii-U.

Yikes. Can't even imagine, seems like it would be crazy uncomfortable.

SO uncomfortable...

i think they made it so you can use a ps3 controller on android or something similar, pretty cool.

You can plug a ps3 controller INTO an android device since it supports USB hosting. Problem is the app needs to support the input method, works great for emulators to play old school goldeneye, sonic, Mario etc etc.

But to the best of my knowledge there isn't an app to use the phone as an actual controller. There is an app for iOS and android to control certain enabled bluray disc on the ps3. It's very limited as it only works with certain blurays, it's called 'pocket BLU'.

You can pair a playstation controller to an android phone. For example, you can pair a playstation controller to the Galaxy Nexus and use it to play games via bluetooth.

Now THAT would be nice. I haven't even downloaded GTA for iPhone because I don't want to deal with the controls but I would of I could pair a ps3 controller with it. Not sure about how it would turn out but I'd definitely give it a shot

You get what you pay for I guess.

A hand-held gaming console will have better controls, better games and a larger screen.

It also crashes far less often than your iphone games will.

Webe++

There is an app for jailbroken iPhones now
Webe++ works great. Get from Cydia store, $5.
Great for navigating media and much better than ps3 controller for web apps as it works as a touchpad for cursor.
