The wifi card in my laptop has died and rather than spend $30 for a new USB wifi card, I wondered if there was a solution where I could use my iPhone 3g instead. I know that tethering can be done (with jailbreaking), but I would assume that usually most tethering solutions use the EDGE or 3g connection instead of the wifi connection most of the time. The other issue that goes with this is that most of the tethering programs I've seem all connect through wifi (e.g. wifi computer -> wifi phone -> edge/3g phone). Without a functioning wifi card in my laptop, that doesn't work so well. I obviously would need something that works over usb. Does anyone know of a solution that would let me connect my iPhone as a usb wifi card?
