OK, so iPhone has always done a great job for me of auto-joining networks and supplying the WPA/WEP key to get me on. I've never been able to get the auto-login to work though. If you're not familiar, this is supposed to recognize networks that scroll out a login box and remember the credentials you type and to automatically provide them in the future. See the attached picture of said network login window that pops up:

Here's the deal, I tried to deal with this back with my 3GS but gave up. Through some fluke, that I have never been able to replicate, it actually started autofilling my username and password at some point so I just had to hit OK. I'd be happy with this again! Now I enter it evertime and press the "yes, remember my login and password" button but it never takes. It was the same when I upgraded my 3GS to iOS 4 and my iPhone 4 is the same now.

I'd like to figure out:

1) how to just get auto-login to work so that it will handle the authentication in the background for me

or

2) at the least figure out how to make it honor my "yes, remember my login and password" command so that its autfilled and I just have to press OK.

Like I said, I work at 1 for a few weeks with my 3GS and then gave up when suddenly it started remembering my info but now that I've lost that it drives me crazy to have to do that everytime I need to do anything (AT&T barely works in most of my building).

Anyone understand how autologin work who can help me or help me figure out how to make it actually remember my info when I tell it to?

thanks
