I was just wondering if anyone knows if there will still be iPhones available on launch day in the afternoon. I, unfortunately will not be able to get out to work to 4, then i will head over to att to attempt to get one.

I just left the AT&T Corporate Store at the Mall, and the SM said they will open at 8:00am PDT. The Mall will allow them to open at exactly 8:00am sharp. They are anticipating a long-long line, estimated to be from one end of the Mall to the other. :p

i know the att stores will be opening at 8 to sell the iPhones, my question is: Do you guys think they will still have some by the time I get there at 4?

I wonder with the new in store activation if At&t stores will carry more than they did last time? I talked to a few store managers when the first iphone came out and they said they only got a dozen or so. I remember Apple stores having a ton of them.

First off, we don't know when they are going on sale. Could be when the store opens, could be 6 pm, who knows. Second, it's hard to say - most people had no problems getting one last year, line or no, this year it's a lot cheaper but it's just a slight upgrade to an old product, not a brand new product everybody wants. And of course, there's the question how long it'll take to sell each one, given the required in-store activation.

It's a brand new product to everyone that doesn't have the original. This release wasn't supposed to be the end all, be all upgrade for existing users; it was always designed to be the one that pulled people off the fence. Namely the people waiting for 3G, GPS, and an easier to swallow up-front price.

Well, I'm satisfied with 8:00am and the rest of you can sink or swim. I'm pretty sure that most of you saying there weren't lines or you could just walk up and get the iPhone last year, don't live where I live. So, if you want to email me or PM while I'm in line, you are welcome to do so, either way I'll be passing on the "scoop" while in line waiting for the doors to open at 8:00am on 07.11.08. I'm actually on vacation in Palm Springs, CA (some serious golfing), so I'll probably drop-in at the nearest AT&T Store, 123 N Palm Canyon Drive
Palm Springs, CA 92262, and do my camping and shopping there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the nearest NDN Casino to Palm Springs Morongo Casino Resort? :p

I've already got it mapped out with regards to my parking spot and the quickest entry point to the Mall and the AT&T Corporate Store...:p

I am debating whether or not I should go to an AT&T store or an Apple store. they are both equal distance, about 2 miles away. Not sure which will be easier and less hassle.

I think that is the closest one and definitely the nicest in that area. Don't forget the outlets in Cabazon.

This hasn't been "Officially" confirmed by either Apple or ATT yet. The Launch time could still be 6pm.

They are suppose be briefing retail staff at Apple on July 6. So the details will be made available then.

I'm wondering which will hurt more, her shopping spree, "our" gambling habit at the NDN Casino, or the money I'm spending on the golf course (side bets included of course)? :p

Ha, well it sounds like you'll all be having a good time but a very expensive weekend........ but at least you wil have your new iPhone right !?
