Loads of people have probably asked this but does the iPhone have the same annoying scratchy back as the iPods????

Its hard to tell from the pictures!

I cant wait for sept.18th!

The back of the iPhone is nice and smooth. Which iPods are you talking about?

Sorry you're right.
I always got mine in its case :D
Yes its a silver finish, not shiny.

no, the only shiny chrome finish you see on the iphone is the border surrounding the front. you might be confused with the ipod touch, which does have a shiny chrome back.

The iPhones back is inverted compared to the iPod.

The iPod logo on the back is "frosted" and everything else isn't.

On the iPhone its the opposite - the Apple Logo is shiny and the rest of the back is "frosted."

Thanks for all your kind comments!

This is the one downfall I have with the iPod as the scratching makes it look less good and ruins its resale value!

This is fantastic!

2 days to go!

Hasn't scratched yet for me, although i do keep it in it's jam jacket (<3 that thing)

So i'm happy.

Just a note, the back of the iPhone is not aluminum. It's plastic pretending to be aluminum-ish.

That isn't correct, the black part is plastic, if the whole thing was plastic there would be no reason for the black part, it is where the antenna is as the signal gets interrupted by metal. It is aluminum.
